These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Pier ("the App"), a macOS application provided by U&M Studio ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Upon purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the App on Macs that you own or control. A single purchase covers your personal use.
You may not: resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the App; remove or alter any proprietary notices; or reverse engineer the App except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
The App offers a 14-day free trial with full functionality. After the trial ends, certain actions (such as ending processes and controlling services) require an active license; viewing remains available. We may change trial terms for future versions.
Purchases are processed by our payment provider and Merchant of Record, Polar, who handles the transaction, invoicing, and applicable taxes. License keys are issued by them and validated by the App on activation.
We may release updates, bug fixes, and new features at our discretion. We are not obligated to provide updates indefinitely.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use the App at your own risk. Ending or force-quitting processes can cause data loss or instability; you are responsible for the actions you take with the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or system availability, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.
These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. We may terminate the license if you materially breach these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of China, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
